Delta Airline Aircraft Maintenance Technician Career
The Junior Flight Simulator Technician performs entry level maintenance functions on Full Flight Simulators, Flight Training Devices, Cockpit Procedure Trainers, and associated support devices to support meeting pilot training, maintenance training, and FAA regulatory requirements.
Summary of responsibilities (not comprehensive of all tasks):
Troubleshoots identified discrepancies on electronics, computers, computer networks, hydraulics, visual, pneumatics, and mechanical systems.
Installs, replaces, cleans, repairs, and services various equipment including visual generation/display systems, computers, computer networks, motion systems, electronic circuit boards, and circuits.
Maintains PC, Motorola, IBM, and various other host and satellite computers and networks.
Performs periodic maintenance and diagnostics on computer and peripheral equipment.
Operates and maintains electronic test equipment.
Accomplishes software archiving functions.
Possesses a general knowledge of Aircraft systems and their operation.
Practices safety conscious behaviors in all processes and procedures.
The Aviation Maintenance Technician 2 – Base Maintenance is responsible for ensuring and maintaining a safe work environment.
Summary of responsibilities (not comprehensive of all tasks):
· Maintains or repair of some or all of the following; aircraft, aircraft engines, aircraft components and avionics systems according to Delta and FAA specifications.
· Performs inspections during assembly of part and after repair or installation of component.
· Documents maintenance procedures to include; component damage, component origin, and condition of component, components or equipment.
· Practices safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS)
Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
Must have a valid driver’s license.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must be able to pass an extensive background check, drug test and audiogram.
Must be authorized to work in the US.
Must have an FAA Airframe and Power plant license.
Must be able to read and write English at a level to comprehend and apply information contained in technical manuals.
Certain duties may require working in confined spaces for a periodic time.
Should meet the physical requirements which qualify a person to perform essential job functions, including the ability to lift at least 70 pounds.
Should possess the basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic disciplines as they apply to aircraft systems.
Must achieve a satisfactory score on the mechanical aptitude test which is structured to determine the ability to perform essential job functions.
Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule, including rotating/fixed shifts, holidays and weekends.
