Virgin Atlantic Airline Officer – Maintenance Planning Career
To support the Maintenance Planning Engineer ensuring that the VAA fleet compliance is maintained in accordance with the approved Maintenance Programme. As specified by the legal & mandatory requirements of EASA PART M, PART 145, PART 21, Air Navigation Order (articles 8, 9, & 11), EU-OPS and other EASA regulations.
This is achieved by contributing in the timely planning and co-ordination of maintenance planning activities in close liaison with other Engineering and Airline departments and the production and issue of technical documentation to the appropriate environment for A checks, MCU’s, C/D checks, VAA Hangars, Third Party customers serviced by VAA.
Production and communication of maintenance plans and reports to key stakeholders on a regular basis, ensuring plans are being met and managed in accordance with Part 145 and Part M
To ensure that all key planned work is carried out in-line with downtime allocated.
To co-ordinate and assist with or manage the compliance of the component programmes and maintenance projects, to ensure all compliance testing and schedules are met using the relevant maintenance systems and creating accurate reports to support the data ensuring efficient co-ordination with internal and external engineering departments.
To assist Planning Engineers with compliance management through the on-going review of the maintenance plan using the relevant IT system for 3rd party and VAA aircraft, and take appropriate action in order to ensure compliance for planned tasks is maintained.
To update various engineering computer systems and distribute reports, for the relevant Production environment, in relation to maintenance planning activities and services
Ultramain: Required to identify and rectify errors, extract/analyse data to produce schedules and programmes. To input data, create/add to maintenance packages, raise Work Orders, adjust Maintenance Requirements, and raise triggers for scheduling and update and review MIRA APP.
Biton/OMS: Determine fleet data, extract data and collate into single programme with necessary information for planning.
SharePoint: Programme and task management such as but not limited to; slide deployment programmes, mod proposal work flows, RPI/Cancellation & LAWRF/API’s register management, Working Roster, Week out minutes, OBM milestones and Thrust Reverser programmes for departmental use and monitoring.
To raise POs for Third Party work in order to plan maintenance activities in line with requirements.
To respond and anticipate requests for information and produce concise, relevant documentation as required.
To input/update data in order to validate/verify all departmental databases.
Working knowledge of all planning processes, work package production, and maintenance programmes planning for Maintenance Planning.
- Can multi-task with various departments while maintaining a calm, professional attitude
- Has experience within a Planning Environment and manages the checks from inception to completion in one or more of the VAA planning functions.
- Project Planning and Management.
- IT Skills including system specific knowledge in Ultramain
- Communication skills including facilitation and negotiation.
- Self-management skills and ability to work independently and control Ad-hoc projects and programmes.
- Knowledge of the MPD and how to navigate it.
- Attention to detail.
- Experience in civil aircraft industry with specific experience in an airline production or maintenance planning environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of EASA Part M regulations PART 145, Air Navigation Order, EASA.
