We like to keep it simple, smart and efficient by managing one aircraft type and having one class of seats. We fly from point-to-point within 4 hours out of multiple hubs, and turnaround fast. We sell directly and buy centrally - outsourcing where we can. We believe in minimising fees and cultivating long-term relationships with our guests.

Regardless of where they’re from, our operations teams come together as one and train with each other in Kuala Lumpur to the same set of high-quality standards. We also run pilot cadet and engineering programmes in our major operation centres to nurture talent.

We’re the launch-customer for the CAE Rise training system, part of CAE’s ‘Next Generation Training System’ strategic initiative. This allows instructors  to objectively assess pilot competencies in real-time through powerful advanced data analytics.

We’re a strong believer in workforce diversity and accept the best of the best, regardless of their background or gender. AirAsia has operated all-female ground teams, as well as male ramp teams, since we were established in 2001. About 8% or nearly 190 of our pilots are female - among the highest in Asia.
